Woolpit Nurseries
A family-run business for over 40 years

Woolpit Nurseries is a family-run business, started over 40 years ago in 1978 by Pam and Bob Jackson. Initially, it was a nursery growing tomatoes commercially and then expanded into bedding plants and hanging baskets 25 years ago selling directly to the public.

For the last 20 years, their daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Andrew Brain, have driven the business forward as one of the few remaining grower nurseries in the Suffolk, with more than 90% of the plants grown on site at Woolpit Nurseries.

Today the nurseries supplies over 250,000 seasonal bedding plants and 2,500 hanging baskets every year for the general public, businesses and local authorities. They supply and install ‘In Bloom’ displays for Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury, Stowmarket and Newmarket. And they have helped Bury St Edmunds win numerous awards including Gold Medal in Anglia in Bloom
