Seeds are planted for recovery at Woolpit Nurseries.

The seeds of economic recovery were planted this week following lockdown, with garden centres among the first businesses allowed to reopen.

Garden Centres including Woolpit Nurseries in Woolpit, Bury St Edmunds, welcomed back customers on Wednesday under social distancing measures. Photograph shows Andrew and Catherine Brain, owners of Woolpit Nurseries, which reopened on 15th May 2020.

Those visiting Woolpit Nurseries have to book a time slot.

Meanwhile estate agents were allowed to reopen and talks are under way to bring back food stalls on West Suffolk’s markets – social distancing permitting.

West Suffolk Council has been discussing measures with market traders to allow shoppers to buy food but no date has yet been set for reopening.
